KCGA Updates

APRIL 2026

Inside Kensington Gymnastics

April 2026

Welcome to the April 2026 edition of Inside Kensington Gymnastics — our calm monthly update from Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy for families across Kensington, Chelsea, Knightsbridge, and the wider London community. This month, we look back on a lovely end to the Spring term across all three KCGA venues, including our Easter classes, end-of-term medals, and digital certificates sent to parents. April also gives us a chance to reflect on an important part of our coaching philosophy: that in children’s gymnastics, enjoyment and structure can coexist. Here at KCGA, we believe children progress best in an environment that is joyful, well-organised, and professionally led.

Who this update is for

This update is for current KCGA families who want a clear monthly view of academy life, and for parents exploring children’s gymnastics in Kensington, Chelsea, Knightsbridge, and London more broadly. It is especially helpful for families who value calm coaching, small-group classes, and a structured long-term approach to children’s physical development.

Written highlights

April has been a lovely month to reflect on the end of the Spring term across Kensington Gymnastics, Chelsea Gymnastics, and Knightsbridge Gymnastics.

The central highlight of the month was our Easter Week, which brought a special end-of-term atmosphere to all three venues. Children enjoyed their Easter gymnastics classes in a way that felt memorable, positive, and full of energy, while still sitting within the same calm coaching culture that guides KCGA throughout the year. For us, that balance matters. We do not see enjoyment and structure as opposites. We believe the best children’s gymnastics environments are both warm and joyful, but also clear, safe, and professionally led.

Across all three locations, Easter Week gave children the chance to finish the term on a high. At the end of their classes, gymnasts received their KCGA medals, and parents were sent a digital certificate to mark the completion of the Spring term. These moments of recognition are important. They help children feel that their effort has been noticed, and they create a sense of continuity that supports confidence from one term to the next.

Here in Kensington, we also captured some especially strong footage from our more advanced class, with some impressive gymnastics on display. It was a lovely reminder that whether a child is just starting out or already progressing into more advanced movement, long-term development still grows from the same foundations: good coaching, patient structure, consistency, and trust.

Alongside what happens in the gym, we also continued building the KCGA Academy Hub on the website. One article we are especially pleased to highlight this month is When Is the Right Age to Start Gymnastics? — a practical guide for parents thinking carefully about readiness, child development, and the best time to begin. For many London families, that is one of the first questions they ask when exploring gymnastics, so it is an important topic to address clearly and thoughtfully.

The April 2026 KCGA Newsletter is also now live on the website, giving families a written overview of the month’s key updates and academy life. Meanwhile, Kensington Gymnastics Magazine continues to grow as a longer-term educational resource for families, offering science-based insight into subjects such as anatomy, nutrition for child gymnasts, and a clearer understanding of the sport itself.

Looking ahead, the Summer term begins on 20 April 2026, bringing a fresh start and a new phase of steady progress across the academy. We are also pleased to share that, due to high demand, new classes for children aged 4 to 6 have opened at St Philip’s Church in Kensington, with full details now available on the website timetable.

And finally, in early May, Dr Stefan will be representing Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy at the 2026 Masters Gymnastics World Cup in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, where he will compete on Rings. We look forward to sharing more about that in next month’s update.
