A founder-led gymnastics academy where confidence and skill grow together
Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy helps children and adults develop outstanding gymnastics skills, confidence in movement and a lasting relationship with physical activity.

Gymnastics should help people grow—not simply collect skills
KCGA was created to make high-quality gymnastics meaningful beyond the lesson itself. Technical development matters, but so do confidence, resilience, enjoyment and the desire to remain active.
Helping children build confidence, develop outstanding gymnastics skills and discover a lifelong love of movement.
Confidence built through genuine progress
Gymnasts learn to approach unfamiliar movement with patience, courage and a growing belief in what they can do.
Outstanding foundations and skills
Clear progressions develop strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, control and increasingly capable gymnastics.
A lifelong love of movement
Positive experiences help children and adults see physical activity as something rewarding, meaningful and worth continuing.
Character within a community
Listening, perseverance, respect and encouragement are part of learning alongside physical skills.
A lifetime in gymnastics translated into an academy for London families
Dr Stefan Kolimechkov founded KCGA and remains actively involved in its coaching, programme design, coach mentoring, parent communication and long-term direction.
His work brings together lifelong participation in gymnastics, extensive coaching experience, a PhD in Physical Education and research concerning children’s physical fitness and health. Through KCGA’s Academy, scientific publications, magazine, podcast and family resources, that knowledge also reaches beyond weekly lessons.

One thoughtful standard across the academy
KCGA’s identity comes from the way coaching decisions are made and how gymnasts experience them—not from exclusivity, fashionable claims or pressure to progress quickly.
Founder-led programme
Teaching priorities, progressions and coach mentoring remain connected to one academy-wide approach.
Two qualified coaches
Every children’s group class is supported by two qualified coaches, allowing observation, guidance and responsive teaching.
The whole gymnast
Technique, confidence, enjoyment, resilience and long-term participation are considered together.
Evidence made practical
Research and professional learning inform clear, useful coaching choices without turning lessons into a laboratory.
