Welcome to Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics, where primary school children experience the joy of gymnastics. The Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy is a registered private company in England, United Kingdom (company number: 14181797) with our registered office located at Niddry Lodge, 51 Holland Street, Kensington, London W8 7JB. The company was founded in 2022 by Dr Stefan Kolimechkov.

We are a club member of British Gymnastics (The National Governing Body for gymnastics in the UK), a club member of London Gymnastics, and a CIMSPA employer partner (CIMSPA is the professional development body for the UK’s sport and physical activity sector). We are listed on the Companies House register, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) register, and we are registered with HMRC.

To help people recognise and experience the joy of doing gymnastics in order to sustain a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle.

LONG-TERM GOAL

To make the Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy and our personal brand STK SPORT recognisable symbols of excellence within the health and fitness industry, based on positive individualised practical experience for every client, backed up by solid scientific knowledge.

Our Group classes are run in Kensington at St Philip’s Church, W8 6QH, and in Knightsbridge at More House School, SW1X 0AA. Personal sessions are run at The Kensington Studio (W8 6JP) and in client’s homes.

STEFAN

DIRECTOR & COACH

Dr Stefan Kolimechkov is the Director and Founder of the Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy. Coach Stefan has 15 years experience coaching children at all levels, ages and abilities in Bulgaria and the United Kingdom. He holds a QTS, Level 3 UKCC in gymnastics, Chartered Activity and Health Practitioner status, Fellow status of the ECSS, and a PhD in Physical Education with his Doctoral thesis on the benefits of gymnastics at primary school age. Stefan is also 3 x London Gymnastics Champion on Rings.

Coach Lawrence

LAWRENCE

ASSISTANT COACH

Coach Lawrence joined the Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy in October 2024. He is an exercise scientist who believes in taking a multidisciplinary approach to improve sport performance. He graduated from the University of Bath in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science. Currently, he is completing his Master’s degree in Sport Science from the University of Konstanz. He has experience coaching young athletes with various levels of ability in a range of different sporting environments. Having competed in high level regional sport, he understands the discipline and commitment required to achieve a desired sporting outcome.

MARY-ANNE

WELFARE OFFICER

Mary-Anne Gordon has been the Club Secretary / Manager and Deputy Welfare Officer at Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy since 2022, and our Club Welfare Officer since 2024. She helps uphold safeguarding standards of the club and ensures that the values of the club are embedded. She brings a wealth of experience to the club having worked with various age groups in London. Her qualifications include a Bachelor's of Education degree, QTS, and Designated Safeguard Lead Training.

Coach Rozalia

ROZALIA

ASSISTANT COACH

Coach Rozalia joined the Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy in October 2024, bringing extensive experience in both TeamGym and artistic gymnastics. A dedicated and accomplished athlete, she competed at the British TeamGym Championships in 2024, securing a gold medal with her team. With seven years of TeamGym experience, Rozalia has consistently excelled, winning multiple golds against teams across the UK. In artistic gymnastics, she brings a further six years of training and competition experience, having won numerous competitions, and she continues to train actively. Passionate about continuous improvement, both hers and the gymnasts Rozalia regularly trains to further refine her skills and techniques.

KSENIIA

CLUB PHOTOGRAPHER

Kseniia has been our club’s photographer since 2022. She captured wonderful images at our Christmas, Easter, and Halloween sessions, as well as the Annual Performance at the Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics. Bringing a blend of creativity and professionalism, Kseniia captures the real, spontaneous moments that make our gymnastics events so special. With years of experience and a background in photography, her style focuses on natural light and genuine emotion.

Our History
Chelsea Gymnastics Academy

In June 2024, we celebrated our second anniversary during the Annual Performance at the Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy, London. 

The Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy was founded by Dr Stefan Kolimechkov in June 2022 in England, United Kingdom under the name Chelsea Gymnastics Academy Ltd. The Academy is the successor of Stefan’s sole trade gymnastics coaching business, STK SPORT. In 2024, the name of the company changed to the Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy Ltd to reflect our gymnastics services in Kensington and Chelsea.

The main objective of the Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics is to bring bespoke gymnastics to the community in schools, studios, and homes in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London.

  • In August 2022, we became a member of the Kensington Society (an important society that works to preserve the architecture of buildings and parks in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea).
  • In September 2022, we became a club member of British Gymnastics (the UK Government body for the sport of gymnastics), and we opened our first gymnastics classes at St Philip’s Church in Kensington W8.
  • In December 2022, we signed an important partnership with CIMSPA (The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity in the UK).
  • In January 2023, Stefan represented the Academy at the 2023 Milton Keynes Adult Competition and won a gold medal on the Rings in his category for masters athletes (30+).
  • In June 2023, we celebrated 1-year-anniversary during the 1st Annual Performance at St Philip’s Church, Kensington.
  • In August 2023, Stefan represented the Academy at the 2023 Adult Gymnastics British Championships and won a bronze medal in his category for masters athletes (30+).
  • In April 2024, we opened gymnastics classes at More House School SW1X 0AA, serving Knightsbridge, Belgravia, and Chelsea.
  • In June 2024, Stefan represented the Academy at the 2024 Masters Gymnastics World Cup in Cambridge, MA, USA, and took 12th place on the Rings. He was also part of the GB Master’s Gymnastics Team and perform on the Rings and Pommel Horse to help the GB team finishing in 4th place.
  • In June 2024, we celebrated 2-year-anniversary during the 2nd Annual Performance at St Philip’s Church and More House School.
  • In August 2024, Stefan represented the Academy at the 2024 Adult Gymnastics British Championships and won a gold medal in his category for masters athletes (30+).
  • In August 2024, the name of the company changed from Chelsea Gymnastics Academy Ltd to Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy Ltd to reflect our gymnastics services in Kensington and Chelsea.

Although the Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy is only 2-year-old club, the real spirit of its true purpose was born two decades ago.
