Recognition with clear meaning

Four pathways, each with its own purpose

KCGA does not treat every distinction as the same kind of achievement. The umbrella connects the Academy’s honours while preserving the meaning and criteria of each one. External recognition of the Academy itself is recorded separately.

01

Annual KCGA honours

Gymnast of the Year and Coach of the Year are distinctions selected by KCGA after sustained contribution across the year.

02

Competition achievement

Competition Honours records medals earned in external events while representing KCGA; these are results, not awards selected by the Academy.

03

Appointment and representation

The Junior Ambassador is a formal, child-centred appointment recognising character, communication and the ability to represent KCGA positively.

Annual halls of honour

Recognition sustained across the year

KCGA’s two annual distinctions celebrate different contributions: the development and character of a gymnast, and the leadership, care and professional impact of a coach.

KCGA Junior Ambassador Programme 2027

The Junior Ambassador is a recognised young representative who helps share the experience, values and joy of gymnastics through selected Academy activities and approved media.

A different and complementary honour. The appointment is not Gymnast of the Year, a competition result or a coaching role. It recognises character, enthusiasm, reliability and a genuine ability to communicate.

The inaugural appointment covers the 2027 calendar year. The dedicated programme page contains the current application status, family information and approved documents.

Recognition beyond the gym

KCGA recognised in two consecutive Business Awards

Alongside its sporting honours, KCGA’s work as a growing London academy has been recognised by the Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster Business Awards in two successive years.

New Business of the Year finalist

Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics was named among the ten finalists in the New Business of the Year category.

Excellence in Customer Service finalist

Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy was named among the ten finalists for Excellence in Customer Service.

Presented accurately: these are external finalist selections for the Academy, distinct from KCGA’s own annual honours and from medals earned in competition.
A growing KCGA tradition

Recognition developing with the Academy

Each pathway has been introduced for a clear reason and is preserved in the part of the KCGA record where it belongs.

Gymnast of the Year established

KCGA’s first annual honour created a permanent Hall of Honour for gymnast progress, character and dedication.

Coach of the Year established

A dedicated annual distinction began recognising the adults whose coaching helps shape the Academy.

First children’s competition medal

Sofia’s silver Floor result became the first children’s competition medal recorded for KCGA.

Junior Ambassador begins

One young gymnast will become KCGA’s inaugural Junior Ambassador and the first name in a new appointment tradition.

Honours & Recognition FAQs

What is KCGA Honours & Recognition?
It is the central home for KCGA’s annual Gymnast and Coach of the Year distinctions, verified Competition Honours and the Junior Ambassador appointment pathway, with selected external recognition of the Academy recorded separately.
Are Gymnast of the Year and Coach of the Year competition awards?
No. They are annual honours selected by KCGA after considering sustained progress, character, contribution and conduct across the year. Competition results are recorded separately.
Is Competition Honours an award chosen by KCGA?
No. Competition Honours records confirmed medals earned at external gymnastics events while representing KCGA. It preserves the result and its context rather than presenting it as an Academy-selected award.
Is the Junior Ambassador the same as Gymnast of the Year?
No. The Junior Ambassador is a formal representation and development appointment. It recognises character, communication, enthusiasm and reliability rather than gymnastics ability or competition performance alone.
What do the KCW Business Awards finalist mentions mean?
They are external business award finalist selections for KCGA: New Business of the Year in 2025 and Excellence in Customer Service in 2026. They are presented as Academy recognition, not as KCGA-created honours or confirmed category wins.
Will KCGA add further honours in future?
KCGA may expand this collection when a new honour or recognition pathway has a clear purpose, approved criteria and an appropriate way to preserve its history.
