🥉 BRONZE MEDAL FOR OUR ACADEMY

In August 2023, gymnasts Bethany and Stefan, accompanied by Coach Maurice, proudly represented Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy at the Adult Gymnastics British Championships, held on the 5th–6th of August 2023 at the prestigious Lilleshall National Sports Centre — the home of British Gymnastics and Team GB training.

Our founder, Coach Stefan Kolimechkov, achieved a remarkable result, earning a bronze medal in the Men’s Pro 30+ All-Around category, marking a historic moment for our gymnastics academy (previously known as Chelsea Gymnastics Academy). This outstanding performance placed KCGA among the medal-winning clubs at one of the UK’s most respected national gymnastics events for masters athletes.

About the British Gymnastics Adult Championships

The Adult Gymnastics British Championships is the premier national event celebrating the passion, skill, and lifelong dedication of master’s gymnasts — athletes who continue to train and compete beyond their youth competitive years. With divisions organised by age and experience (ranging from novice to pro), this event provides an inclusive, motivating, and inspiring atmosphere for gymnasts of all ages and abilities.

Hosted at Lilleshall, the Championships bring together gymnasts from across the United Kingdom for two days of exciting competition, sportsmanship, and community.

💪 Coach Stefan’s Achievement and Inspiration

Competing in the Pro 30+ category, Stefan performed routines across multiple apparatus, showcasing his trademark strength, control, and artistry, particularly on the rings, where his signature Maltese cross and handstand positions earned high praise from judges and spectators. His medal-winning performance not only demonstrates his continued excellence as an athlete but also reflects the high technical standards he instils in his students at KCGA.

This achievement highlights the Academy’s commitment to developing well-rounded gymnasts, nurturing both children and adults to reach their full potential, whether recreationally or competitively.
