KCGA’s Fantastic Debut at the Essex Invitational 2025
Basildon Sporting Village – Sunday 5 October 2025
Well done to all our KCGA gymnasts who competed at the High Ten Events – Essex Invitational 2025.
This event marked our first-ever competition for KCGA’s children’s section, and every gymnast performed with confidence, discipline, and joy.
Results:
• Sofia — 🥈 Silver (Floor) + 4ᵗʰ Overall
• Jasmine — 🥈 Silver (Vault)
• Gigi — 5ᵗʰ Overall
• Yuna — 4ᵗʰ Overall
• Lorenza — Elegant, composed routines throughout the day
To make the day even more special, our gymnasts met Max Whitlock, the most successful British gymnast in history, who signed a poster dedicated to Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics — now proudly displayed in our Academy.
KCGA Recognised Among London’s Best New Businesses
We are honoured to share that Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy has been selected as a Finalist at the Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster Business Awards 2025.
The gala ceremony on 23 October at the Royal Lancaster London brought together some of London’s most outstanding organisations, and KCGA proudly stood among them.
Being named one of the Top New Businesses in Kensington & Chelsea reflects our commitment to delivering premium, science-backed gymnastics education for local families.
Coach’s Corner — with Dr Stefan Kolimechkov
This month’s Coach’s Corner highlights our founder and head coach, Dr Stefan Kolimechkov, who recently celebrated his 38ᵗʰ birthday, marking 23 years in gymnastics and 19 years of coaching.
Stefan says:
“Gymnastics teaches children how to move well — but more importantly, it helps them grow strong, disciplined, and self-assured. That’s what KCGA stands for.”
Science & Health Tip 🧪
The Role of Flexibility and Controlled Stretching
Gentle, regular stretching supports healthy joints and helps prevent injuries. At KCGA, we focus on active flexibility, strengthening muscles while improving range of motion, allowing gymnasts to move safely and gracefully.
Encourage your child to stretch lightly at home, focusing on smooth, controlled movement and never forcing a position.
Academy Updates 📅
This month marks wonderful progress across all KCGA classes: our gymnasts are showing stronger shapes, better control, and growing confidence every week.
Following our recent recognition at the KCW Business Awards, we have welcomed many new enquiries. If you know families hoping to join, please remind them to book early, as most classes are now full or near capacity.
