AKSHAINIE’S GYMNASTICS JOURNEY

🧭 A Focused Week of Private Coaching in Kensington

In the summer of 2025, Akshainie travelled from India to London to train at KCGA. Over the course of just one week, she completed a full programme of private one-to-one coaching with Dr Stefan Kolimechkov, joined group classes, and even performed in both KCGA’s Annual Performances in Kensington and Knightsbridge.

For Akshainie, the experience stood out from all her previous gymnastics training, combining technical depth, supportive energy, and fun.

“I enjoyed how Stefan focused on perfecting my technique to do each element. He trained me specifically for my upcoming Calypso Competition and even made conditioning fun by turning it into games. That made it a lot more enjoyable!”

💪 Technique, Body Awareness & Joyful Training

During her one-to-one sessions, Dr Kolimechkov paid special attention to the biomechanics of movement — ensuring every joint and muscle was used with purpose and safety. For example, even in basic shapes like splits, Akshainie learned to rotate the feet and toes correctly to maximise alignment.

“Stefan has in-depth knowledge of how to use the body correctly for gymnastics. It’s the difference between just playing a game and playing it well — while protecting the body’s wellbeing.”

These micro-adjustments helped Akshainie refine her form and build awareness she’ll carry forward in her training at home in India.

🌟 A Unique Competition Experience at KCGA

During her stay, Akshainie also participated in KCGA’s Annual Performance, designed as growth-oriented events where every gymnast can shine. Her family appreciated not only the organisation, but also the spirit in which the events were held.

“The club performances were well-organised, friendly and inclusive. They helped children learn to compete with themselves and improve — rather than compete in an unhealthy way against others. They were truly foundational and focused on growth.”

🏅 Achievements from India to London

Akshainie is already an accomplished gymnast with growing international experience. Some of her achievements include:

  • 🥇 Gold Medal in Vault at the Calypso Competition in London (Level 3 or 4)

  • 🥇 Gold Medal in an inter-school competition in Nagpur, India

  • 🏆 Competitor in ISSO Level 4 events (Indian International Schools Organisation)

Her time at KCGA was a powerful supplement to her competitive preparation — blending conditioning, skill refinement, and performance readiness in a boutique setting.
