KCGA Gymnast of the Year
Each year, during our Annual Performance and while celebrating our club anniversary, Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy presents its highest honour — the KCGA Gymnast of the Year Award.
This is the most important recognition we give.
It is not awarded for medals or competition results. It is presented to the gymnast who best represents the values of KCGA: consistent effort, meaningful progress, coachability, resilience, and a positive spirit that lifts those around them.
In a boutique academy where every child is known personally, this award carries deep meaning — for the gymnast, their family, and our coaching team.
What This Award Represents
Progress Over Perfection
At KCGA, we value steady, long-term improvement.
The Gymnast of the Year shows measurable progress across the year — physically, technically, and mentally.
Character & Coachability
Listening. Respect. Focus. Resilience.
The winner demonstrates maturity beyond their years and responds positively to coaching guidance.
The KCGA Spirit
This award recognises a gymnast who contributes to the atmosphere of the academy — encouraging others, training with calm determination, and embodying the culture we are proud to build in Kensington and Chelsea.
How the Gymnast of the Year Is Chosen
The recipient is selected by the KCGA coaching team after observing the gymnast consistently throughout the academic year.
We consider:
-
Effort and consistency in weekly training
-
Technical development and skill progression
-
Behaviour and respect within the group
-
Attitude during challenges
-
Contribution to the wider KCGA environment
All KCGA Houses (classes) within our 3 locations: Kensington, Chelsea, and Knightsbridge, are eligible.
The award is presented publicly during our Annual Performance, in front of families and the KCGA community, making it one of the most special moments of the evening.

Looking Ahead — Gymnast of the Year 2026
The next KCGA Gymnast of the Year will be announced at our upcoming Annual Performance as we celebrate the 4th year of the academy’s growth and achievement.
Each year, the decision becomes more challenging — not because standards are lower, but because our gymnasts continue to raise them.
We look forward to celebrating the dedication, progress, and character that define KCGA once again.
