coach Misha - Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy

Coach Misha worked for the Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy from February 2024 until October 2024. With her extensive experience, impressive qualifications, unwavering passion, and proven track record of empowering champions, coach Misha provided great coaching to our club. Our Academy wishes her the very best of luck in her professional and personal life.

A Life Dedicated to Gymnastics

Coach Misha’s gymnastics story began at the tender age of six. What followed was a remarkable career spanning 23 years, filled with countless triumphs. She secured an impressive collection of over 150 medals and trophies, including the prestigious titles of 2 times Bulgarian Republican Champion for Groups (Junior & Senior), Bulgarian Republican Team Champion (Junior) and a Bronze Medal in the Overall Bulgarian Republican Championship. She has participated in the Bulgarian National Team Selection, however her gymnastics dream has ended at the age of 16, due to a serious spinal injury.

Resilience and Reinvention

However, fate had other plans. At 16, a serious spinal injury threatened to end her career. But coach Misha’s spirit wouldn’t be broken. Demonstrating incredible resilience, she transitioned from athlete to coach, her passion for gymnastics simply too strong to let go. This dedication propelled her to become an assistant coach at just 16!

Sharing Knowledge and Inspiring Young Talent

Eager to share her expertise, coach Misha moved to London at 18. Since then, she’s become a fixture in the London gymnastics scene, coaching at various clubs and honing her skills further. Today, she holds a Level 2 Coaching qualification in General Gymnastics, Level 1 Coaching in Rhythmic Gymnastics, and is a Regional WAG Judge, a County RG Judge, and a Club ACRO Judge.

Empowering Champions

But coach Misha’s impact goes beyond qualifications. As part of her coaching experience, she has helped the gymnastics clubs she thought at the time, as an Assistant Coach develop talented gymnasts who have gone on to achieve incredible things. Some of her students have become Bulgarian Republican Group Champions, while others have even entered the prestigious GB Squad. She has also successfully guided young athletes through the National Development Plan (NDP) selection process in Rhythmic Gymnastics on multiple occasions.

A Commitment to Continuous Learning

Coach Misha’s passion for knowledge doesn’t stop at coaching qualifications. She graduated from the prestigious UAL (University of the Arts London) where she was awarded an FDA (Foundation Degree in Arts) and Bachelor’s Degree in 2017 and 2018, as an Interior and Spatial Sports Designer. And guess what? She’s not done yet! Currently, she’s pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Coaching Rhythmic Gymnastics and is even working towards her Level 3 Coaching qualification in General Gymnastics.

More Than Just Skills

Coach Misha believes gymnastics is not just about physical prowess, but also about building confidence, discipline, and a love for movement. Her own journey, with its highs and lows, has instilled in her a deep empathy for her students. She strives to create a fun and supportive environment where every child can reach their full potential.
