Kensington & Chelsea Gymnastics Academy (membership #93417) has been a club member of British Gymnastics since September 2022.

British Gymnastics (BG) is the official Governing body for gymnastics in the United Kingdom. BG was also known as the British Amateur Gymnastics Association (abbreviated BAGA), and it was founded in 1888. At that time, Gymnastics had been adopted in the UK, having been invented in Germany by Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, to improve the health and fitness of German soldiers.

Nowadays, British Gymnastics works to regulate the sport through collaboration with the four Home Country Gymnastics Associations (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales). British Gymnastics disciplines include, Acrobatic Gymnastics, Aerobic Gymnastics, Disability Gymnastics, Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, TeamGym, Trampoline, Double Mini Tramp, Tumbling, Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, and Gymnastics For All (GFA). GFA encompasses a wide range of recreational gymnastics activities from Preschool Gymnastics to Adult Gymnastics (Masters Gymnastics) and GymFit and Freestyle Gymnastics, to competitions and festivals including GymFusion. British Gymnastics is organising all official competitions in the UK and leading the way in shaping our sport Nationally and internationally.
